Phil began his professional life as an actor, writer and, eventually, a producer in theatre and TV. He accidentally ended up running a number of B2B Media businesses in the UK, and US, and over the course of 20 years, was responsible for some of the world’s largest conferences and expos, across most major industries.
Sales and Marketing ‘machines’ underpinned major successes , and, as such, Phil developed an obsession with the skills of influence and persuasion. In recent years, he has been advising the world’s largest events companies, including Clarion, DMGT and Informa, helping them to develop their capabilities both externally (sales) and internally (management and leadership) through understanding not only the art, but also the significant science and research which has established there are core principles which underpin high performers in the field of influence.
He is also a Partner at Bean Partners which provides corporate finance services to ambitious business owners, CEOs and investors – helping them to influence their commercial and cultural outcomes.
